About

Claire Kaufman, MBA is a nationally-known cannabis business and marketing strategist. Claire helped uncover some of the first market insights available in the cannabis industry, helping to grow cannabis market data firm BDSA and cannabis consumer insights firm, Brightfield. Claire has served as a marketing advisor to all kinds of cannabis businesses, from local cultivators like HiFi Farms, to global giants like GenCanna or Trulieve. Always interested in policy and public health, Claire served on the CPOT Board (Cannabis Policy Oversight Team,) the OLCC Recreational Marijuana Business Council. 

Between 2013-2017, Claire Kaufmann co-founded Le’Or (with her now co-parent), Roy Kaufmann. Le’Or was a 501c3 dedicated to helping to get the Jewish and spiritual communities to talk about cannabis prohibition, through the lense of Passover and the Exodus. The Le’Or Cannabis Passover Seder had more than 1M media impressions in 2014.

Claire is currently serving as Marketing Strategy and Consumer Research faculty with the Oregon State University College of Business. 

Her take on the future trends of the cannabis industry, and the questions facing marketers and entrepreneurs are sought by national and international media, cannabis industry leaders, and key players in the traditional marketing world. Claire holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the Graziadio School of Management at Pepperdine University, where she focused on brand marketing and development. She has three teenage children and lives in Beaverton, OR.
