wall of sharks…
Re-joining Hinge offered me a fresh opportunity to articulate my most irrational fear, “the wall of sharks.” I don’t really like the ocean, I will snorkel if I can see the bottom, because that is on the top of the water, and not fully in it. I rationalize that I can abscond, should I see a predator lunging at me.
Honestly, I really don’t understand why anyone would want to swim in any body of water where they are not at the top of the food chain.
Anyway, the “wall of sharks.” Let me continue: I will choose to visit the Oregon coast on the day “the big one happens.” The resulting tsunami will stir up all of the ocean’s creatures, and the last thing I see is a wall of water with sharks and whales swimming in the ocean, a wall of water more than 80 feet high. The most common response to sharing my core fear? “This doesn’t sound that irrational to me, and thank you, because now I have this fear also.”
